GENERAL OVERVIEW

The ROUGH Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in July 2009 and is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. The name R.O.U.G.H. is an acronym that means Reach Out U Get Help and Reach Out U Give Help. The ROUGH Foundation’s overall purpose is to provide the services and distribute the resources that could mean the difference in an individual’s life (their own life’s rough journey) between just existing and living a positive and productive life.
 
The ROUGH Foundation focuses  its daily efforts on helping people locally, regionally, nationally, and around the world “right where they are, right now” through three distinctive divisions; ROUGH Cares, ROUGH Charities, and ROUGH Missions. The goal of each division is to provide caring and compassionate assistance to the needy through its services and distribution of its resources. The organization seeks to meet the needs of the less fortunate by providing financial support, food, clothing, shelter, educational assistance, emotional support, and other resources during challenging periods in their lives.
 
ROUGH Cares will focus its efforts on local communities in the USA and will partner with ROUGH Sportswear through the ROUGH Foundations' ROUGH (Reach Out U Give Help) Act of Kindness (AOK) program to assist those that are less fortunate. The ROUGH AOK program will make it possible for customers that want to help someone that is less fortunate.
 
With every purchase, the ROUGH Sportswear Company contributes 10% of a customer’s total purchase to the ROUGH Foundation. Through the ROUGH Foundation’s ROUGH AOK program, customers will have the opportunity to help someone that is a little less fortunate than they are. In addition, the ROUGH Foundation will give the customer direct control of where 50% of that contribution to help someone is allocated.
 
For example, if a customer purchased $100.00 of ROUGH Sportswear apparel (get), the ROUGH Sportswear Company will make a $10.00 contribution (give 10%) to the ROUGH Foundation. The ROUGH Foundation, through its ROUGH Cares program, will give the customer direct control of where $5.00 of the contribution (50%) is allocated in an effort to encourage its customers to become a part of its mission to help the less fortunate (give). At the same time, the ROUGH Foundation will allocate the other half of the donation ($5.00) to the ROUGH Cares program to support the efforts of not-for-profit organizations as well as individuals in need of assistance.

The contributions will go to support the following not for profit organizations: the Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, plus foster care, homeless shelters, food banks, and many other organizations nation-wide. Therefore, all purchases of ROUGH Sportswear clothing generates at the least a 10% contribution to help someone in need through the ROUGH Act of Kindness program.

ROUGH Charities focuses its efforts on local communities in the USA and provide aid and assistance to individuals and families in need during challenging periods in their lives as well as assistance during the holiday season. Through Donor Sponsored ROUGH Acts of Kindness gift cards (i.e., Jackson Family ROUGH Act of Kindness) that begins with a value of $25 up to $1,000 that can be given to individuals and families in need. The ROUGH AOK gift cards will have spending restricted to clothing stores, grocery stores, toy stores, hotels, and restaurants.

ROUGH Charities also provides seasonal aid and cheer through activities and events during the winter, spring, summer, and fall months as well as other donor sponsored “ROUGH Random Acts of Kindness” to individuals and families during the holiday season. ROUGH Charities utilizes the assistance of local celebrities and business partnerships as well as other local philanthropic organizations in the community.

ROUGH Missions focuses its efforts on national and international aid and assistance to individuals and families in need during and after natural disasters including acts of war. ROUGH Missions provides food, water, shelter, basic necessities, educational assistance, emotional counseling, toys, stuffed animals, children’s books and other disaster relief aid and assistance during times of major distress to certain regions of the world.

The ROUGH Missions looks to partner with other international aid organizations to strengthen and improve its response time, quality of service, and distribution of its resources.
